Did you know you can request your personal data from Uber? The data contains every trip you’ve ever taken, how much it cost, and even how long you waited. So what better way to investigate my own travels than with a customised Tableau Dashboard.

I’ve been a long time Uber convert, and even went 5 years without owning a car, relying solely on PT and Uber - so I was curious to see how I’d used Uber over that time. After taking more than 750 trips, and spending more than $12,500, it turns out I’ve travelled the equivalent of driving from Perth to Cairns via Melbourne and Brisbane! With 16 cities and four countries under my belt, perhaps more telling was my trip to Japan in 2020 - and the fact there isn’t a single Uber trip! I guess the only lingering question I have is, do I regret the $110 trip to the airport on New Years Day 2018…
